I Love You Poem by Katelin Taylor

I Love You

Rating: 5.0

I love You where the blood fell
Holy Father, dearest Friend
My sin was worth a bloody cross
And the death of a perfect man.

I love You where a trail of blood
Led straight to Calvary
Each drop that mixed in with the dirt
Held the names of you and me.

I love You in the sign that read
"Behold the King of Jews"
The ink once used to mock You
Does now declare good news.

I love You in the splintered wood
That pressed into Your wounds
With every breath the pain grew worse
And spread to the whole world.

I love You where they pierced Your side
That day upon the hill
To test for sure if You were dead
But Lord, You're living still!

I love You in that empty tomb
In the stone that's rolled away
I love You when You conquered death
That glorious third day.

Lord, I love You with my life
I thank You with my breath
I'll praise You until the end of time
And greet You with my death.
