I'M Different Now Poem by Shasta Casey

I'M Different Now

Im different now
Not because I say so,
there's truth behind my words.
I finished my masterpiece,
call it the art of letting go.

With every dab of the paint is a stab at a memory, mixing and altering in fear you'll remember me
Give me black give me gloomy. Keep your cheery brights, ill paint til my hand hurts, til the moon lurks, til day becomes night

Millions of bristles ruined,38 broken brushes, all laying on the ground along with your touches, as well as your kisses, your voice and your eyes. Cover it with indifference to your truth and your lies

Changing colors is easy, changing character takes trial.
I wasn't always like this,
Im different now.

With every stroke of paint a negative comment is relinquished, a painful period is surrendered a troubled time is diminished. You've hindered my happiness beyond times limitations, my patience remains intact, im not stopping unless im finished

Pausing at the window. Seeking gods inspiration, returning to my seat pleased with his revelation. Don't cover corner to corner, you didn't rob me complete. Your priority was to make everything aside from you obsolete

You can't call it ugly,
you dare not say its fowl
Your finally all gone
Im different now

Think its time I changed my water jar, its filthy and tainted, I don't want whats painted staining and making a mess. I may not be flawless, as great as I profess but ive painted you out my life to build myself for best

Last mintute details make all the difference, I toss the brush to the ground because it all makes sence now.

Stand back in admiration, what was unbalanced is leveled, I am restored. I'll no longer allow you access to what was never yours.
I lost you while searching for me
I am found
Through the art of letting go
I am different now
