I'M In Love With My Bestfriend

Rating: 5.0

I'm in love with my bestfriend,
Something he'll never know.
I've never been good at admitting my feelings.
Maybe it's time to let go.
He's different, and I love him.
I've never fell for anyone this way.
He's different, and I love him..
But the thing is, he's gay.
Day after day, I've contemplated.
Not sure of how he would take it.
Would he be understanding,
But not really care?
Would his preferences change?
Is this emotion something we secretly share?
I guess I should tell him, but I let the days slip by.
When one night I awoke to a crashing sky.
My world as I knew it, had fell apart,
As I saw the text messages light up in the dark.
'I can't take it' he said, 'they won't leave me alone! '
So I dialed his number, but he wouldn't pick up the phone.
Lying on one end of the line, helpless,
all I could do was pray.
We did that all over again, at the funeral and cemetery gates.
So much praying, but I don't want to speak with God.
I want to tell my bestfriend that I loved him, more than he ever could have thought.
The people scatter through the rain,
Piling into their cars.
The burial is over, but I'm still here until I see the stars.
I was hoping he would come to me somehow and that I could finally admit the truth.
That I'd receive an answer, and he would show me proof.
Because I am still in love with my bestfriend,
Something he'll never know.
And I've never been good at admitting my feelings,
But maybe it's time to let go...
