I'M Just A Lump Of Clay Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

I'M Just A Lump Of Clay

While you're away
with words and thoughts I play
but they do little to convey
how I long for you today

The words we exchanged
were so sweet
each day, a little more of you I meet
a picture a little more complete

That's a feeling
I feel underneath, so real
tells my heart you're the real deal
No more reason to conceal

The growing affection and tenderness
for you I truly do feel
and knowing of your sadness
my heart opens yet anohter seal

So today, I play
and don't take all seriously
I'm just a lump of clay
with a heart for you

While you're away
