I'M Letting Go Poem by Jane Han

I'M Letting Go

I know there's still so much left to say
But we won't because it's of no use
And there's still so much broken pieces left on the floor
But we won't fix because we're so worn out
From friends to lovers to people who only once loved each other
We started out on a wrong foot
And I guess we knew it couldn't have worked out
But I was me and you were you
And it was love and it was true
But down the road we know there's nowhere else we can run to

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Two lovers meeting for the first time at the wrong time and at the wrong place. Harder and harder they fell in love and they tried so hard to keep the relationship going. But the harder they tried, the worse things got to the point they realize it's time to give it up. They've been running back to each other but it goes nowhere. This time is the last. They have to move on no matter how much it hurts and no matter how much they still love each other.

This is so sad, but sometimes love just isn't enough and you have no choice but to let it go. Nice poem and I can feel the heartbreak in this!
