I'm living
In the shadow
Of your world.
I am scared.
The shadow
Is so strong,
So talented.
I will not be able
To keep up
With you.
Gifted succeed.
The lives of those
Along the way
Shatter
Building the great.
But I am blessed
To have the ride.
Our demons,
Whether they are mine
Or yours,
Get carried away
With strong tides.
Poets write
And lovers paint
Musicians make music
For all those
Who anticipate.
The seeds are planted
From something
In our blood
Buried most of the time
In the shadows
By those
Who are great.
But I love
That you chose
My world,
To shine upon.
