I'm Not Me Poem by Anaswara Divakaran

I'm Not Me

Rating: 5.0

I'm not me.
Some savage beast
From good old days
Of my own past
Has jumped up from nowhere
And suddenly swallowed me.

An existence of short term lease
Has gone stolen.
Now I'm hollowness
Sheer hollowness!
My latitudes and longitudes
Transformed into the beast's abode.

I painstakingly struggle.
Only to find more of the beast in me!
I'm not me!

I painstakingly struggle. Only to find more of the beast in me! I'm not me! ......beasts as symbol of all that is living in our thinking and rule over us without our permission.... there are many such beasts in us........ very realistic poem written in symbolism. thank you dear poetess. tony
