I'M Ready Poem by Kira Rosario

I'M Ready

Stripped down
Leaving my whole self bare
No walls up
All guards down
I'm ready
I'm ready for you to twist my mind with your nonsense,
fill my head with your own beliefs

Contradictions.
Erode my spirit with your banter
I'm ready for you to tear down my smiles, snarl at my laughter
Ready for you to shove your ideas of how I should be down my throat.
Cram in your expectations
Ready to hear how wrong I'm doing it all.
I'm ready for you to remind me constantly of what it is you don't like about me
My music, games, books, clothes Everything.
Point out the flaws
Hang them out to dry for everyone to see.

My mind, my body, my very souls is weary.
I'm tired.
My shortcomings are all I have
I see I could never be good enough if I remain myself.
I'm waiting.
Waiting for you to STOP
and just look at me.
Realize who I am and accept me.
Love me.
