'Go after what you want', they said
The girl, the goals and dreams, go ahead
You've got nothing to lose, make haste
And let no opportunity go to waste
Feet once rooted to the ground in comfortable hesitation,
then start moving in subordination
But what then, what then
Do they tell those who ran and ran and were still left behind?
To those crushed after putting everything on the line?
The ones who gave chase but were misled
And now lay broken, disillusioned, emotionally dead?
What do they tell the many who flirted with chance and made acquaintances with deception?
To most who lost hope after a string of rejection?
I'm asking what is the point of such motivation? Seems like most of our life is destined to be plagued with dejection.

Quintessential mutiny against the millstone of expectations from curious guardians. Excellent poem
