I'M Sorry Poem by beautiful imperfection

I'M Sorry

You expect so much from me,

I just can't win with you,

And although I've tried so hard,

nothing anymore is true.

You helped me through so much,

changed my life from gray to blue,

but now that we've changed so much,

I fear that I can't trust you.

I'm sorry I can't be perfect,

I'm sorry I can't please you,

I'm sorry I put so much in your hands,

only to find that you weren't true.

We have had some great times,

filled with laughter and smiles,

but now this path we're traveling

is filled with only trials.

I once thought I couldn't live without you,

but now I see I was wrong,

for it's easy to let go

when someone like you hasn't cared for so long.

I'm sorry I can't be perfect,

I'm sorry I can't please you,

I'm sorry I put so much in your hands,

only to find that you weren't true.

I guess it's time to say goodbye,

I never thought this day would come,

but I guess that's what happens

when two people let a friendship go numb.

I'm sorry I can't be perfect,

I'm sick of trying for you.

I'm sorry I put so much in your hands,

only to find that you weren't true.
