I Miss The Way I Feel With You Poem by Silence Dogood

I Miss The Way I Feel With You

I miss the way I feel with you.
The way I use to act.
I miss all that we had.
Cause I'll never get it back.
-
You can pretend that I don't matter.
And I'll pretend that I don't care.
But I always go all silent.
When our eyes meet in a stare.

Because what we had was different.
Then anything before.
It could have been much better.
But it left me wanting more.

And I still don't understand.
Exactly what went wrong.
Our love was not that weak.
But neither was it strong.

I guess it wasn't meant to be.
That's the best that I think I can do.
But just because we say it's over.
Doesn't mean I'm over you.

Because I always want to talk.
About what it doesn't matter.
I just want to know were still friends.
So my heart will cease to shatter.

But this is not perfection.
Nor the way it was meant to be.
Yes, we would have ended at somepoint.
But I liked the you and me.

Us together made me smile.
More then any friend I've had.
And being with you made me happy.
On days where I felt sad.

You were all I ever wanted.
And all I looked forward to.
But it's all over between us.
It's no longer me and you.
-
I miss the way I feel with you.
The way I use to act.
I miss all that we had.
Cause I'll never get it back.
