I Must Be Dreaming Poem by Kristina Lybbert

I Must Be Dreaming

Rating: 5.0

I must be dreaming,
My heart is screaming.
How can things be so perfect,
When I barley feel worth it.

I've met the love of my life,
Even if he doesn't want me for a wife.
I love him and he loves me,
And I want him to be free.

Free to choose who to love,
Free to fly like a dove.
I want to run away with him,
Even though our chances are slim.

I want to be with him till the end of time,
Even if we have to live on a dime.
If this is a dream, i never want to wake up,
Even if it ends in a heartbreaking break up.

My life is better having known him,
And even though things look grim.
When I think of my life before, I almost cry,
I cry because I would never be his butterfly.

A simple message turns the greyest skies clear,
And that's when I know I have nothing to fear.
My life feels like it's from a movie scene,
A movie that can never be unseen.

So if this is a dream,
Even if I scream
Please don't wake me up,
I'm not ready to give up.

Wonderful poem dear poetess. just wonderful.... full of emotions........ you were proving my theory.... when i see my own friends who are well placed and married.......... how they suffer in married life.........i think it is better to love and to find a real love of your soul and heart rather than to be in wedlock....... it is really a lock....... you have found your love (is it only a dream or true? ?) then enjoy that love giving him freedom of life and enjoying your own freedom, being true always and faithful even without getting married. is nt it a great idea? thank you for this great poem........... tony
