I Need To Know Poem by Ray Hansell

I Need To Know

I need a place
Between here and tomorrow
I need a place
To shed some sorrow

I need a place
To be all alone
I need a place
To call my own

I need a place
Where I can cry
I need a place
Where one will ask why

I need a place
To shed some tears
I need a place
To shelter my fears

I need a place
That no one knows
I need a place
Where no one goes

I need a place
To clear my head
To pray for someone
Who now lies dead

I need a place
This cold season
I need a place
To find a reason

I need to know
Was his death in vain?
I need to know
Who's to blame

I need to know
What we've become
I need to know
Who gave him a gun

I need to know
The reason why
I never got the chance
To say goodbye
