I Need To Take A Nap Poem by Jay Celador

I Need To Take A Nap

'I need to take a nap'
I'm sooooo Tired
This exhaustion representative of my defeat
My challenge of the universe, the sun's reign of heat
As my eyelids increase in weight and mass
My thoughts clouded evaporate rain falls in the gutter at last
Arrange the chess pieces in check
Lay on a bed of nails to get some rest
Beat knowledge in your head through pain and grief
Awake find liberty in sleep find peace
But I sleep when I am tired
When I am famished
When I am afraid
When my selfish imagination submits and gives his conscious away,
I give up control of mind and heart and socks
Give my flesh a luxury he needs, even though he boasts and talks
I wish I could deny him Toxic, poison, vanity
Lust, Distrust, I scorn yet I embrace as I must
Because I give up control to the brain
My soul is stuck
My ghosts breathe colors onto the screen
Surpass the whites in mine eyes their blind
To what's in need to be seen
I see trees giving shade
People as individual grass blades
Basking in the sun, growing taller, than remain
Eat. Food. Sustain.
Create math. Explain?
Forge blades wars waged
Raise masts explore
Wear masks ignore
Become a cloud, for anyone take form of what they want to see in you
Why not remain an ambiguous blur
Agitate scholars with your annoying birth
Refuse to become a recycled mannequin
Donning threads of your prescribed
De Generation
Your Generation
Lacks motivation
Rest Sleep Wake in conformity
Rely on clichés to explain what is really deep
Fill your pen with your blood and never write a page
Wear your costume and makeup and never take the stage
You wrote your script learned your lines
Watered soil, grew your vines
Why let the sun take hold of you
Why rest when's there's time later for sleep
Why not obey the moon leave the fields for the beasts
Slumber through the day
Keep running once cooled in the shade
What use is sleep if dreams aren't at bay
What use are tears if emotions aren't drowned out, drowned away
Do I need to rest, to nap, to catch up on sleep
I fear the flesh will collapse and overcome me
I a slave to my body
eyes are closed..............soul is angry
sleeping
