I offer my Fajar prayers,
In the same spirit every day;
And look out of the same window,
At an ever-changing manifestation;
The beauty changes with every new season:
Spring, summer, autumn, and winter;
Leaves turn green, then yellow or red, then brown;
At the end, the dead vegetation comes to life,
Except the dead hearts.
The world of manifestation gets stronger,
Through every next season of the year,
While travelling towards the winter.
More lean, more weak though I become,
I still find the moon sitting outside my window,
Though with dense veils of silvery clouds,
On its smiling face;
I still find the light of the morning sun,
When the night closes,
Though dim and with a little bite of cold,
Of the chilling winter winds;
Well, the moon, the stars, the sun and everything,
Are on their way to a new spring;
I check in with my divine intellect,
With which I monitor my joys and pain.
I am just like everything outside my window;
I too am subject to the tyranny and bliss of time;
Like the moon, like the stars, like the sun,
Like the vegetation, like the animals, like the birds,
Like the tiny visible and invisible insects,
I wax and wane, and then come to life again;
But nothing will probably last longer than I will.
Time is slippery, it doesn't like to be watched;
It works on us both overtly and covertly;
It has no beginning and no ending;
It is right outside our window;
It is right inside our window;
There is no escape, only surrender.
