I Once Saw Your Face - Poem by D. Harris

i once saw your face
though i know it has changed
and in the years since
we have been estranged
so while you sit lying
in my old stream's bed
i hope you dont mind
if i pass by instead
if i dont sit down
and choose to forget
if live with myself
rather than regret
