I Paid The Price Poem by Marites C. Cayetano

I Paid The Price

For the riches I have
I paid the price.

I swallowed my pride
I did hardworks
touch the dirts
and dried sweats on my shirts.

For the riches I have
I paid the price.

I turned away from love
became deaf and blind
to loved ones voices and tears
and my heart so cold and lonely.

For the riches I have
I paid the price.

I have forgotten about me
I have forgotten...about you.
