I Promised Mom Poem by Kelvin Gathiru

I Promised Mom

I promised my mom to study hard,
Even if it means being an absurd,
I don't want her to walk in the mud,
I want to see her happy 'n' not sad,
I will not rest until I wear that gown.

Born in a village 'n' not a town,
Am always looking up not down,
Coz my God will never let me down,
In the middle of sea I'll never drown,
I will not rest until I wear that gown.

In every challenge God offers a spire,
I'll not give up, I will aim even higher,
Even gold goes through furnace fire,
All I have is Biblical stories to inspire,
I will not rest until I wear that gown.
