I remember the beginning
when I first looked in those eyes
their mysterious golden beauty
took me by surprise

I remember your soft voice
and the way you made me feel
being with you was like a dream
but every day was very real

I remember your strong arms
when you had them wrapped around me
I loved you more than you ever knew
and more than you could see

I remember the days
when all we did was fight
and the awful things you said
that kept me up all night

I remember the end
when my hands began to shake
it hurt so much to say goodbye
but trusting you was a mistake
