I Remember Poem by Leta Mae Poe

I Remember

When the sun has fluttered out,
And the moon sets the sky ablaze,
Gold leafing memories
Of other star-drenched nights...
When jasmine dances with honeysuckle,
Spraying the soul
With long-remembered dreams,
Then I remember
An old love.
Hidden When twilight deepens its role
As leader into the night,
Night-blooming jasmine
Tosses its day-restricted scent
Across the monarchy of the night,
Tempting us into the dreamy darkness
Where we can hide
Our day-scarred souls.
