I Remember Poem by Autumn Winds

I Remember

The bright orange leaves fall
And cascade down
More gently than the rain
Cold nights and long days set in
Lonely roads seem lonelier
And empty nights stand out
Quietly, we hum tune-less lullabies
And await a timeless pattern

I remember

Crop circles in the carpet
Seem to swirl and move with my eyes
And the fires that once raged, are dim
In those quiet nights
The wind still whispers your name
Sees fit to remind me you're not here
The heart that was
Has died
Only our silhouettes linger

I remember

I stand in the middle of the road
With so many directions I could go
Surrounded by the fallen leaves
It seems so quiet, so still
In this place
Where the cacophony of the world
Cannot attain
And I still remember those old photographs
And everything I've left behind
And in the age-less Autumn

I remember
