I said goodbye Lord today I had to say goodbye to a special friend

I cried lord when I had to say goodbye I said goodbye today to a special friend

My friend was only sixteen with so much life to live so much more to give, his sweet smile would bright up any room he was so smart we all knew he was destined to go on and do many great things.

Today Lord I had to say goodbye with tears in my eyes

Lord I cannot understand why I prayed every night for a miracle can you see my friend still has so much life he is gong to do many great things.

Today Lord I had to say goodbye with tears in my eyes

Lord do you not see my friend is going to do so many great things he is on the honor roll he plays sports like no other, put a ball in his hands watch him dance.

Today Lord I had to say goodbye with tears in my eyes

Lord today was the day my friend Chris put up one hell of a fight he did not cry nor did he shout as he took one last breath he turned to say to the ones that were close to him take care of my mom my sister and brother.

Today Lord I had to say goodbye with tears in my eyes

I looked up in the sky I saw that rainbow that day with tears in my eyes the trees blow without any wind and my youngest boy ran to the tress and said I saw him I saw Chris mommy I saw him there.

Today Lord I knew my prays were answered

My friend Chris was destined to greater things then we could ever image I have life long angle walking along side of me until we meet again Love you Chris.
