I Saw The Two Of You Together Poem by DAVID TERRY

I Saw The Two Of You Together

Rating: 2.5

I saw the two of you together there
In that place where I shouldn’t have gone
You were all alone
Hand in hand, along the sand
As I watched from afar
A quick jet ride following the wind
Rented wheels southbound
I walked to your door, hesitated, and walked away
Then I walked over to his and for a moment
Thought about what he did to steal your heart
I could not knock, could not disturb
He deserved his chance too
I sat in my car and watched, waited
Until I saw you together
You did not look happy but neither were you sad
You did not see me, did not give me a thought
I watched you drive away
Away from me again
And I realized that you truly had moved on
So I drove back to my plane and rode it home
To where I belong
