I See Poem by Michael P. Johnson

I See

Since Heaven’s hand took hold of mine
Since faith caressed my mind
Placing all hope on Christ divine
No longer am I blind

I see within my deepest soul
The caverns of my heart
The Way to heal and make me whole
And give a brand new start

I see the truth of selfless love
Divinity of grace
By choosing me to dwell above
And see Him face to face

I see The Lord my God and King
His glory shining bright
The One of whom the angels sing
Upon His throne of light

I feel the arms of tender care
The hands that formed my soul
The Promise that is everywhere
Who’ll guide me to my goal

I feel these things and so much more
I see much more beside
I see The Way through Heaven’s Door
Who’s burning deep inside

I know of things no ear has heard
No Christ-less eye can see
The hidden mysteries in God’s Word
And things about to be

I see my God my Lord and friend
Unlike I’ve seen before
My eyes behold the very end
Beyond Salvation’s Door
