I Shall Become Old - Poem by Harshdeep Singh Rapal

I shall become old,
My skin may turn dry.
My eyes may look cold,
But heart still wants to fly.

Clothes torn and tattered,
Hair rough and grey.
Old body battered.
I wander all day.

Old, pale and week,
I stammer all day.
Hardly any words to speak,
I’ve gotta lot to say.

I shall become old,
And I shall soon die.
My body may become cold,
But heart still wants to fly.
