I Shall Sing My Song Poem by Francis Kokutse

I Shall Sing My Song

One day soon,
I shall sing,
sing my song.
One day soon,
I will drum my story
on the great drums
that Togbi let behind.

One day, and one day soon,
I will pretend to be Akpalu
and go round Anloga market,
where l will shout in allusion
to all that has made me.

I say, and hear me out,
just one day soon,
I will dance at Attorkor Tokor
to tell the tale that has made me.

Listen,
do not hear it from any other,
open your ears well,
one day it will be heard.
