I Shed A Tear Poem by Aisha Jidda

I Shed A Tear

Rating: 5.0

I stand amid the ocean
As the breeze lifted my hair
As the seagulls flew above me
I was totally unaware

As the waves went back and forth
And as the sun began to set
I stood there like a statue
While my feet were soaking wet

The deafening noise had shrunk
I gazed at flock of birds go by
I saw the sun, just one glimpse of twinkling light
As it lowered beneath the sky

Day had gone
Darkness arose
Sadness surfaced my soul
Yet still I frose

As I stood under the jeweled sky
This pain, I need not bear
That lay deep inside my shattered heart
And I, I shed a tear
