I sometimes, when the rainbow graces skies,
Desire to fly within its colors bright.
The painter of the rainbow, though, withholds
His brush, that I might amplify his hues.
My love for such exquisite art compels
A yearning to behold its hidden hand.
I hear his brushstroke's whisper as I gaze,
Much like the rustling leaves that question why.
Why cast me from your garden, leaving me
To tread upon this rough and hardened ground?
I must concede you wished to show me truth:
Even beyond the bounds of Eden's gates,
Your essence fills creation's varied forms.
You speak to lovers through the rain's soft song,
You dance in rainbows high above the clouds.
I strain to see, yet still my sight falls short.
You are the radiance of sun and moon,
The stars that light the heavens in their course.
I feel your warmth in summer's blazing heat,
Your chill in winter's wind upon my skin.
Embraced by you, you whisper in my ear
Verses of secret scripture, soft and clear.
Falling for a mortal I shall not again,
For now my heart holds only love for you.
Though sent away, my love remains intact,
Hoping you'll call me back to Eden's grace.
Beneath the rainbow's arch, I'll start anew,
My life restored within your paradise
