I Spoke With The Voice Poem by Mr. Handsome

I Spoke With The Voice

I spoke with the voice and it told me it's plan.
"Go on, try and stop me. You're only a man.
You may be her future, but I'll keep her in the past.
I make her wear depression and doubt, no eyes haveth this mask."

You won't prevail for strong is He who is with me.
Lies are all you've got for He set us free.

It laughed and mocked, "Free? Is that how you feel?
Then why is it my chains still force you to kneel?
You're mine, she's mine, and will be for the rest of time,
There's no escaping me so spare me that line."

You have no claim for His grace abides in me,
No longer a captive, for He came and set them free.
No power to condemn nor to rule over my soul,
For in His death and resurrection He delivered me from Sheol.
You have nothing but lies and I will here you no more,
For I am a slave to the one I hear and His truth resonates in my core.

"Silence! You think you have authority?
Your soul might be His but this power belongs to me!
A bargain perhaps, a way to buy her peace,
Return to me and in exchange purchase her release."

Enough of your lies, I know better than to hear out your kind.
So by His authority your mouth I do bind.
I rebuke you from our lives and you will release your grasp.
My body tensed, chest tightened and let out a gasp.
Jesus save me for my heart is wary,
Deliver us on this day from our adversary.
