I Stand Before You. Poem by Erica Gromer

I stand before you,
Bearing my very best.
I’ve come to realize,
I am not like the rest.
I am a fighter,
And I’ll fight to the end,
Get out of my way
For this fighter won’t bend.
I stand by my conviction
I stand for what is true
I’ll be standing right here waiting
To fight, side by side, next to you.
Don’t expect me to falter
I will not sway
I will not turn my head
And look the other way.
I gave you my word
That I’ll stick around
I’ll be standing tall
When all others hit the ground.
I stand before you ready to fight
Come hell or high water I will not leave your sight
Fear not, I will not let you down
I will not stop until victory is found.
My love is what keeps me fighting this fight
I love you my dear with all my might.
