I Stand Before You Poem by Jessica Post

I Stand Before You

Rating: 1.5

Look at me
I stand here before you
Baring my skin
Baring my soul
Baring my every being

Do you see me
For who I am?
Or what I look like?

I wait for your touch
I wait for your caress
I wait for you kiss
I wait for your soul

Let our bodies mingle
So our souls can connect
This is spiritual
As well as sexual

Stop looking at me there
Look me in the eyes
Just for a minute

Let me feel you inside
Flowing through my body
Penetrating my soul
Taking a piece of me
I'll never get back

But this isn't one sided
I'll take a piece of you
Whether you know it
Or not

A piece of you
That will live inside of me
Forever
Memories can be
A torturous thing

There's no real relationship here
Its all physical
At least to you
I can feel my emotions take over
And I know this will hurt me

But I cannot help it
I need to live
In order to die
And this is living
Right now
