I Still Have Some Life Poem by SUNIL SWAIN

Amidst the sea, of my life;
Sailing alone in a boat-
Moors carried the love of my mother;
and, amongst the waves; lived my lover.

Beneath the crimson expanse,
I love to lope;
Temple bells, songs of the farmer;
kindles in my-heart, a ray of hope.

The autumnal breeze,
the descending sun;
Life seemed beautiful-
and, life was fun.

but...
I was taken over,
not by bandits; or by pirates-
nor did the rollicking waves
but
by my own people-
my own pride...

i aint antagonize any-
nor did I agitate;
But,
was I wrong? ? ?
For they abandoned me-
or,
did I? ? ? ?

Gold seems coal,
Gay has transformed into a storm;
Where am i FROM?
no destiny; no goal! .

Aargh! ! !
Time again aced;
beaten me of all my strength-
And to my limbs,
pounds of weight clings.

A gaping abyss ahead,
an iron wall behind-
I stare at the horizon,
and resent my limitations.

Such a predicament!
an abstruse situation-

To summon God, i fear;
for he would say-
' Life is what,
you make it dear'.

In my mind rages a storm, ad-infinitum;
a storm that addles my brain,
afflicts my heart;
But-
to it i have acquiesced,
for i cant rebel,
I cant rebel! ...

Yet-
I amnt afraid,
for i know:
tables will turn,
and i shall find the Aladdin's cave;

again shall thy love cleanse my heart,
and the ambience of the evening sky-
shall creep into my mind...

Again shall i dream,
of my love, my life;
And thy happiness shall return
And i shall RISE! !

I will rise!
To conquer the invincible-
to advent into the unknown;
and, i shall; leave in the sands of time-
footprints of mine....

My mind will be calm,
True love shall touch my heart-
God by my side;
conscience my guide..
and, i will rise! ! !
to complete the saga of my life-
for life shall continue-
for:
I STILL HAVE SOME LIFE
I STILL HAVE SOME LIFE! !
