I Think About Them Poem by Francis Duggan

I Think About Them

I think about them a few times every day
And though from me in distance they live far away
The friends of my past to my thoughts ever near
Their faces I see and their voices I hear.

Our separate ways in life we may have gone
But fond memories of them with me sure to live on
Till the Reaper of lives claim the life's breath from me
On some future date whenever that be.

Friendships are hard to build why otherwise pretend
And every day of your life you won't gain a new friend
And joy comes with each memory of a beloved face
In the mind for old friends there is always a place.

Though in distance they do live a long way from here
And I have not seen them for many a year
From my thoughts they do not live that far away
I think about them a few times every day.
