I Thought A Poem Poem by A.G. Hansen

I Thought A Poem

Which thought will be the truly brilliant?

Any flash can be developed.
With a flicker of light, a secret is exposed.
From a shred of evidence, a solution is revealed.

Any insight can be reduced,
On thin lines of reason that fade to nothing,
To glimmers of truth that dissipate with speed.

This small threading of thoughts exists hardly at all.

And yet, I carefully string these chosen words,
Testing each for power and light, and currents of meaning.
Attempting to charge this poem with life.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is the re-working of a poem I started in April 2008 - and, here I submit this to an unknown PoetryHunter audience in an attempt to take myself and my writing a little more seriously. Thank you for reading it.
