I Too Shall Fly Poem by C.F. Wilkins

I Too Shall Fly

When by Eternal Goodness captured
And brought to final destination,
When soul and body have been raptured
And changed in holy restoration,

Then I shall fly as angels do
Beyond the bounds of time,
In the glow of Jesus who
Gave me salvation so sublime.

The endless praises of my heart
Are for Him who brought me in.
Not for goodness on my part
But for Christ who bore my sins.

Spirit of God who owns me,
Please bear me to that holy place
Where tearless souls fly high and free
And 'pure in heart' do see God's face.

Like an eagle I too shall fly
And soar with joy that's bold and strong.
In God's power enraptured I
In His presence shall belong.

they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run,
and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
