I Tried, But I Couldn'T! ! !

Rating: 4.5

After travelling many miles from where I started,
I have stopped midway, in a place which distracted my attention.
Not afar is my destiny, stretching her arms, calling my name.
The place was serene, mild wind blowing, sweet sun setting,
Tired birds returning home, me gazing at infinity alone.
I tried to snatch my hands from that invisible grip, but I couldn't.
And sat by the road, ignoring the calls of destiny ringing in my ears,
Thinking about the faces, whom I tried to forget, but I couldn't! ! !
Thinking about the promises, that I tried to keep, but I couldn't! ! !
Thinking about the life, which I tried to live, but I couldn't! ! !

The wind dried my sweat, wiped the dust from my eyes,
I submitted myself to her mesmerizing touch, whispering words,
I tried to listen, closing my eyes, falling down the depths of memories,
Known faces came in rolling, purest smile fading, fake laughter blaring,
Some with assuring holds, some with betraying blows.
I wished they all were here, waving good bye, in their best way, but they couldn't.
'Cause they were left far behind and I had moved on
Wishing I could hold their hands for once, but I couldn't! ! !
Wishing I could feel their tight embrace forever, but I couldn't! ! !
Wishing I could tell them what they mean, but I couldn't! ! !

Before the wind could glance that single tear drop, I buried it inside my eyes.
I felt a sudden change in the atmosphere, calm and still,
As if touched by my sorrow, moved by my pain,
Everyone was quiet, bright flowers drooping, lusty grasses wilting,
Sun peeping from behind the horizon, Birds dozing off in their cozy beds.
They were all dying, but with the hope of seeing the eternal brightness after this darkness, and they would.
And they will see the same nature on the other side, may be even better.
Hoping that I'll get back your love one day, and I would! ! !
Hoping that I'll feel your hug once again, and I would! ! !
Hoping that I'll live with you forever, and I would! ! !
