I've Already Let You Go Poem by Benjamin Davis

I know that you have something to say to me
but you just do not know how to start
I know that you're worried about hurting me
and totally destroying my heart.
but have no fear my hearts ready dear
or as ready as it can possibly be
for I've prepared it for what you will probably say
when you say that you no longer love me.
Don't get me wrong its still going to hurt
but it wont hurt me no where near as much
It will hurt me because I'll miss you sweet kiss
your beautiful smile and your touch.
I have taught myself how to live without you
and how to wake up each morning alone
I have prepared myself because even though you're still here
in my heart you are already gone.
i see that you don't have your bags packed yet
and your things are all still in place
but I can still tell that you're on your way out
because its written all over your face.
So when you're ready to leave don't worry about me
my heart's already prepared for the blow
as a matter of fact you could have been gone
because I've already let you go.
