I Waited Poem by Ashlyn Brena

I Waited

What a romantic, memorable day it was meant to be,
Candlelit dinner before a bed of fresh red roses.
It was indeed a soulwinning beautiful thing to see,
But who did I see it with? Alone just like Moses.

Seeing my heart burning and melting with the candles,
Staring at her favourite juice, waiting for her to knock
Yes I waited, and I'm still waiting...
Time flew and silence stole the room
Candles melted, despite all that I still waited...

I loved her like I wasn't going to love again,
So I had to wait like I wasn't going to wait again,
My angel! , She was still in the skies, stars or moon...
Who knew? All I wanted was to see her anytime soon.

But...
She never came
What a boring Valentine's it was, February Fourteen
ten years ago, I was still a teen.
I waited... and-,
I'm still hoping she'll come or maybe
All this was just a dream.
