I want you to know
that you never held a place
in my heart;
that you were just a gum
on the sole of my shoe
always there sticking with me
wherever I went.

I want you to know
that you were just a fake
just like the rest.
You tried changing me back
but sorry honey
it cannot be the same.

I want you to know
that you helped me
reach happiness within myself.
I am happy now.
I'm sure you are too
now that I've scraped you
off my shoe.

I want you to know
that I am independent
but if you would like
to stick with me
go right ahead,
I will buy new shoes
and toss the old ones
along with you
because you deserve it.
