I Was Told Poem by Michelle Dragonfly

I Was Told

Rating: 3.5

I was told to be a good girl.
I was told to obey my elders.
I was told to make good grades.
I was told to take advanced classes.
I was told to not talk back.
I was told to never rebel.
I was told to follow the rules.
I was told to do everything right.
I was told to make my parents proud.
I haven't done everything I was told.
But I'm still doing what I'm told.
I was told to tell the truth.
I was told to be myself.
I'm just doing what I'm told.

We are all a work in progress, Michelle. Keep doing your thing as a writer. Good things will happen. Just remember by whom this was told! Great job! ! ! !
