I Went Outside Poem by Rachel BaByBeAr Anderson

I Went Outside

I went outside to lay in the sun
as soon as i settled it went for a run
I sat up straight to sit in the rain
as soon as i had the clouds went away
I stood up to stand out in the snow
as soon as i had it had to go
I walked through a field to hear the wind
as soon as i went it forgot to sing
I ran to the beach to feel the harsh waves
as soon as i'd wadded out they didnt look so grave
I swam to a lake to feel the harsh cold air
as soon as i paddled it lost its cold flare
I crawled to a dessert to burn under the blistering heat
as soon as i got there it turned itself down to warm my feet
I hauled myself to the mountains to freeze in the ice
as soon as i climbed there it lost its deadly bite
I slouched in through the church door to shout at god
as soon as i entered i found there is no such sod
I cried up the stairs to sit alone in my room
as soon as i sat upon my bed a new thought begins to bloom,
life's always changing and it adds to my gloom
