I Will Never Forget Poem by Scarlett Voight

I Will Never Forget

I will never forget the sight of...
Every detail on your face, a handsome smile
Remarkable breath taking animation,
nature perfectly captured and magical
Colorful sunrises that scorch the sky, bidding us good morning
A poor dying bird gasping for breath, its last moment
Millions of stars smiling down on the world

I will never forget the sound of...
The sooth clanging of European church bells
Rumbling thunder on a warm summer night
Gratitude and laughter from all people
My grandmother's heartbeat, cuddling on the couch
A grown man screaming and crushed, crying of a broken heart

I will never forget the smell of...
Pine needles in a humid green forest
An old nice leather 1960s A1 model
My father's shaving cream
A hospital room-overly sanitized
Aromas of different kitchens making food all at once

I will never forget the taste of...
Bitter stolen beer, not worth it
Mouth wrenching cooking gone wrong
A honeysuckle tasting not to sweet
Chlorine filled lungs, mouth, and salty blood
Dirt, forcibly tried against my will

I will never forget the feeling of...
The dead forest beneath my feet
His bare chest against my own, his arms hugging me close
How deep a man's hatred can become, absolutely terrifying
Being new, born gain, complete happiness
The feeling of an indescribably infinite love, changing everything

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
We had to write about the things we will never forget and it was hard at first cause there are so many memories but I think this is what will stay in my mind for the rest of my life. :)
