Scarlett Voight Poems

Lying on the floor
scattered everywhere are
shattered pieces

They are shattered pieces
...

I am Caught in a void
of swirling darkness
It consumes everything around me
Unable to see, I blindly
...

Sometiems I feel like the night can carry you away
The faster I run, the more quickly does the shadowed chariot take you
Hidden beneath gold, your eyes burn red,
No passion comes from those salty lips
...

Above the world, above insects you sit
Looking down on societies calls, glaring at their nakedness
Vermin, tasteless beings of meaningless self-absorption
They know not of your existence, yet they beg you to come down
...

I see you in my world of hope
You're patiently waiting, as am I
For time to pass quickly but it refuses even now
...

What is a promise, and
why should it be kept?

A promise is something you vow
...

My Daddy thinks I am the greatest
Daughter that could have been given to him
I find myself comparing myself to my older sister
I'm not confident like her
...

I WISH I COULD FIND more strength
To fight agaisnt my enemies
i wish my WORDS could be a sword
i wish that my voice could be heard even if i didn't speak
...

Take off those OLD PAIR OF JEANS
Make a fresh start
Grab some shorts or
Just run around in your underwear
...

As I walk down the lone dirt path,
Moonlight can hardly peirce through
the tall dark trees

As I travel deeper into the wondering darkness.
...

Will I get cavities?

I only brush my teeth when you tell me to Mom!
Once a month, that's good enough,
...

The heart is a truly terrible and vile thing.
It lies to you,
It swallows you whole and makes you feel nothing.
Just when you think you know what love is. It disappears.
...

13.

Thick fog covers my eyes,
Yet fear has left me
Deluded light is my only reassurance in this blue mist
Sparks of electricity, tug, at my hands-
...

Your heart sinks
The mind turns dark
Blinded the instant you turn to face it
What is it?
...

15.

Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick
The clock reads...eleven
Time it dies away, slowly fading to Gray
None which can be returned to me
...

16.

Unthinking and unmoving, presiding only in myself
To grasp it and be unable to at the same time
Who do you wish to see? To know?
I laugh in the faces that can and do
...

Do you think I pretend?
Am I a liar like everyone else?
A conformist?
Should I look you in the eyes?
...

18.

Maze in my heart, where have you taken me?
I trusted in the blue wisp to guide me
How cheerful it looked, yet deception is its core
The knife wrapped in cloth incases bitter truthful sorrows
...

Ice-
The touch is chilling
Sigh from unquenchable thirst
Brain freeze is still shunned
...

I will never forget the sight of...
Every detail on your face, a handsome smile
Remarkable breath taking animation,
nature perfectly captured and magical
...

Shattered Pieces

Lying on the floor
scattered everywhere are
shattered pieces

They are shattered pieces
of my precious heart

So fradgile like glass
so beautifule like the ocean

I gave you this delicate hear of mine
to tend to it
For I thought you wouldn't let it fall

But here they are, pieces
of my heart broken

What will I do?

Each time I try to pick up thoese scattered pieces
they cut my fingers

So they are left lying on the floor

I am left empty and lifeless with thoes
shattered pieces
