I Will Never Stop Being Old Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Will Never Stop Being Old

I will never stop being old
As long as I live
From now on
I will always be old

I must live with this
I must know this
I must not pretend otherwise

I am old and I will be old until the end
But I also must not forget
How good life nonetheless can be somehow sometimes now

I will be old until the end
And this is my story now
Like it or not.

Yes, so am I. We cannot regress, although some do. Actually, a positive recognition, ignites cognition.++10
