I Will Prevail Poem by DM W

I Will Prevail

O nothing will transport me from my dreams
To this monotonous reality:
Not hard rain, or blazing fire, or parched earth.
I know how to measure things by their worth,
And to nurture inner kingdoms is best
For me, at least. This life seems like a test
Of every aspect of one's being. I
Would like to be clear, that before I die,
I intend to cultivate my garden
Of Art, inch by inch, moment by moment.
While others may fear the ashes and dust
Of existence, in higher powers I trust.
