I Will Still Love You In Heaven Poem by Kathrine Yee Baraquia

I Will Still Love You In Heaven

Rating: 5.0

Holding on to that piece of paper,
Trying not to write the words.
How shall I say goodbye to someone
who's hardly ever there...
The days are running,
and time flies by so fast...
shall I tell you that these words may be my last...

My love, I'm running out of time...
I wasn't able to tell you my reason for letting go...
They say it's a wonderful place out there...
will it still be without you? ....
Let heaven fade my thoughts of you before I leave
so I wouldn't look back as I take my first steps...

I try to stop myself from crying...
I can't spell the words right...
I can feel the tight grip in my heart.
Does goodbye really mean forever,
if saying it the second time seems like the first.

I want to feel your touch,
feel the warmth of your hands
but your heart no longer mine...
I don't know which is more painful,
letting go or being gone...

I tried to write the words
but I know it's too late..
Let the fire burn all my regrets,
let the ashes fade the pain away...

For an eternity of being gone,
feel my presence when you think of me,
feel my love through the air that you breathe...
Hear my words through the calmness of the night.

I will forever love you in silence.
Because even heaven
can't make me forget my first love...

I very much admire this piece. You can feel the pulling pain of loss, and the tense sadness of indecision and yearning. A powerful piece.. Best Steve Look me up some time
