When your were born you cried
You looked at me and felt comfort
I looked in your eyes and thought you were beautiful
I held you close to me to keep you warm
I told you I love you that moment
As you grow I will try to protect you
I want to promise you the world
I want you to dream of everything
Dream of what you want to be
Dream of love and happiness
I am afraid for you to be in pain
I never want to see you cry tears of sadness
But tears of joy when your dreams come true
I will try to protect you knowing I can't protect you from everything
