I Wish - Poem by Alex Moore

I wish the elmo that had died
was the fluffy guy on sesame street
that drew pictures that came to life
I wish the Nathan I'm crying about
was another guy that had walked out
because then I'd have your shoulder to cry on
and you'd still be here
I wish the pills you'd taken
were herbal medication
and you'd be a little queasy
Then you'd wakeup feeling fine
but life's never that easy
and it really displeases me
to know you're gone forever
and my elmo's never coming back
