I Wish I Wasn’t Poem by Colm Hayes

I Wish I Wasn’t

I wish I wasn’t so alone, that the world would forgive me
But that is just a dream it is never meant to be
I cannot go home, for only in exile are we free
No hope do we gleam just that depth of melancholy
