I Wish That Things Were Different Poem by Invisible Scouser

I Wish That Things Were Different

Rating: 5.0

on a bench inside the courtyard, on a dark and starry night
am sat thinking about my life, and i start to see the light.
for days, weeks and months, all i have had is constant pain
I know what the issues are, and i've only myself to blame.
I wish that things were different, because without you am lost
like living forever in the dark, with summers full of frost.
your mind can be magnificent, am sure we all agree
a smile so rare an precious, there's nowhere else i'd rather be.
I dont think you actually realise, how hard its been for me
each nights a repeating nightmare, of which i cant break free.
but am hoping now i've realised, i have to let this go
that things will change for the better, and on my own i'll grow.
please dont hold this against me, i've struggled through it too
and while your smiling and happy, am the one left feeling blue.
I wish that things were different, because without you am lost
I wish that things were different, whatever it may cost.
